Teacher: Elementary Grade TBD (begins 21-22 SY)

North Santiam is a PBIS District Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS) focuses efforts on creating an environment that supports the educational environment. PBIS schools use school-wide and classroom positive reinforcement to promote expected behavior, teach behavioral expectations like academic skills, and use data-based information to guide intervention and management. 

Pay is based upon Education and Experience. Please see attached Salary Schedule to determine where you may be placed.
 
This position is subject to a funded budget based on staffing needs. Specific assignment is subject to change. 
 
  • Current valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate authorization level required
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, to seek professional growth, improve classroom instruction
  • Ability to demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior and to serve as an effective role model
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and the community
  • Other qualifications as may be established by the school district
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that as much as possible meets the individual needs and development of students
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all instructional units, projects, and lessons to communicate these goals and objectives to students
  • Effective communication, oral and written, with students, staff, parents, and the public
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrate effective classroom management skills
  • Diagnose the needs and abilities of students and prescribe appropriate learning activities for each student
  • Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and maintain such records as required by law and District policy
  • Maintain excellence in instruction with focus upon student outcome
  • Cooperate with other members of staff in planning District and building curriculum and instructional methods, goals, and objectives
  • Attentive to work detail
  • Utilize age-appropriate instructional strategies and provide academic modifications where appropriate
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior
  • Serve as a role model to students
  • Familiarity with, and following of, established written standard operating procedures for specific responsibilities of this position
  • Perform other duties assigned by the administration
