Summer 2021 Podcast Intern
FilmNation Entertainment, the independent film production company behind movies like Arrival, The Big Sick, and Promising Young Woman, is looking for a highly-motivated Podcast Intern to join the team remotely for Summer 2021. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn about the creative and business sides of the audio world, combined with a strong interest in Film, TV, Theater, and narrative storytelling.
What you'll do:
This experience gives interns the opportunity to learn about all facets of the industry while at an intimate, but extremely active production company through the performance of the following duties:
- Reading and analyzing submissions and pitches for audio slate
- Attending weekly Zoom meetings regarding internal projects
- Researching and vetting new and existing ideas via books, online sources, and archives
- Performing basic technical audio duties including transcribing audio, cleaning up spelling/grammar in transcripts, pulling selects, assembling rough cuts, and working closely with producers and stakeholders on edits
- Writing research briefs with detailed information from credible and primary sources in a clear format
What you have:
- Passion for podcasts, radio, or oral storytelling
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Strong and confident verbal communication and writing skills
- Basic audio editing skills in ProTools - preferred but not required
- Previous experience conducting research for a media outlet or academic institution, OR working as a journalist for your campus newspaper or campus radio station
Interns are expected to work for a minimum of 2 days per week. Intern Hours range Monday through Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm. Please note hours and dates can be flexible.
Internship compensation: Please note that this internship is UNPAID and all candidates must be able to receive school credit for the completion of the internship.
