Internship with the Pennsylvania Auditor General
Are you a junior, senior, or graduate level student majoring in accounting or finance? Are you passionate about helping people? The Pennsylvania Auditor General's Office is offering three part-time internships for the summer. These positions would be paid at $15 an hour and operate on a hybrid (remote and in-person) work schedule. Learn how we protect Pennsylvanians by preventing the fraud and abuse of taxpayer dollars!
Positions available include: the Bureau of Fire Relief Audits; the Bureau of Information Technology Audits; and the Bureau of State and Federal Audits.
Fire Relief Audits
- Assist in the audit report review process, reviewing Audit Tracking System data, archiving auditing work papers and other files, and reviewing and drafting responses to auditees and public inquires
- Cover office phones (calls/answering service)
- Perform other special projects and assignments as needed
Information Technology Audits
- Execute tests of operating effectiveness to ensure that IT controls have been implemented in accordance with management intent
- Perform computer assisted auditing techniques as part of the audit of the Commonwealth's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- Complete a special project that will also be assigned to research the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPAs) to potentially automate certain repetitive reconciliation processes
State and Federal Audits
- Assist Auditors to conduct the statewide Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
- Help in the statewide single Audit of Pennsylvania's federal programs
- Collaborate with IT auditors to integrate and evaluate the IT systems and controls of the Commonwealth
