Hospitality Internship

Purpose
This internship immerses qualified candidates within the hospitality industry and gives them the opportunity to enhance their education, establish meaningful contacts, improve the quality of their work product through comprehensive feedback, and aspire to a rewarding career in the hospitality industry. Each student intern will have an operational focus area (Rooms or F&B) and the majority of the program duration will be spent in the primary discipline. Student interns will also rotate through various property positions as outlined in a personalized rotational schedule. In addition to learning the operational management of the student’s focus area, this position will also assist in our Loews Hotels & Co Equality, Diversity and Community (EDC) efforts focused on continuing to build a diverse pipeline of talent, honoring diversity and inclusion and providing educational programs. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Will rotate through various functions such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, HR, etc. to gain a general understanding of the different functions within a hotel
  • Participants should expect to learn and perform the job duties of the position(s) within their assigned department
  • Learn the various systems used in the hotel
  • Assist in analyzing and ensuring practice of guest service standards at hotels
  • Completes projects, as assigned, in a timely manner
  • Perform market research on a variety of EDC topics, potential partners and organizations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow team members
  • Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  • Complies with required safety regulations and procedures
  • Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  • Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules
  • Remains current with hotel information and changes
  • Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Education:     Pursuing Associates, Bachelor or Masters Degree in Hospitality Management or related field. GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred
