Temporary Resettlement Outreach Coordinator

Position Overview
The Resettlement Outreach Coordinator oversees volunteer and in-kind donation activities associated with resettlement of Refugees and APA Parolees. Through the resettlement process, a number of opportunities exist for general public support, including direct volunteer assignments, general volunteer assistance, and receiving/dispensing of in-kind donation items. Organizing, managing and coordinating these activities allows for a smooth and supportive flow within the resettlement process. 
Essential Functions
  • Develop overall plan for items, services and supports needed.
  • Receive, organize, store, and dispense donated items. 
  • Conduct training for newly enlisted volunteers on cultural considerations, privacy and service minded support. 
  • Develop and manage inventory of needed and received items to allow case managers to best understand resources available. 
  • Provide supervision for interns and long-term volunteers. 
  • Demonstrate a person-centered and culturally responsive approach in working with households by respecting their self-determination and autonomy.
  • Strongly adhere to Trauma Informed Care, Empowerment Approach, and Assertive Engagement principles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of legal and political issues, and community resources and benefits that affect and/or benefit immigrant populations. 
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks by carefully setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and scheduling time efficiently. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data management. 
  • Strong understanding of computer operations and use a variety of common software programs including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and customized databases. 
  • Ability to organize tasks in an efficient manner, follow-up, and follow-through with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrates ability to work with other people through a cooperative effort. 
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by compassionate, courteous, cordial, cooperative, and professional interaction with diverse groups. 
  • Comfort facilitating educational sessions in a classroom and informal setting.
  • Adheres to all NSC policies and procedures. 
Compensation
This is a full-time temporary position scheduled to conclude on April 1, 2022. The annual salary is $43,000 and includes health and dental benefits and a 403(b) match plan.
